The Carolina Business News Initiative and www.bizjournalismhistory.org are both run by Chris Roush, the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. Roush is a former business reporter for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Tampa Tribune, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bloomberg News and BusinessWeek magazine. He was also editor in chief of a company that published financial newsletters and magazines such as Insurance Investor and Thrift Investor.
Roush is the administrator of the Talking Biz News blog.
Roush is the author of “Show Me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication,” a business reporting textbook published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates in 2010, and “Profits and Losses: Business Journalism and its Role in Society,” a book published by Marion Street Press in 2010.
